Dear Parents,

St. Mary Catholic School is dedicating our Lenten Service Project to Catholic Relief Services to help with relief to the country of Haiti.

Third grade has decided to sacrifice their free time (ex. watching T.V., playing video games, playing outside, riding their bikes, etc.) by doing extra chores around the house. We are trying to stress the aspect of self-sacrifice to help others. We want them to come to you to get your agreement before they do anything. With your signature, you have approved the chore and are recognizing its completion. Below are the suggested chores that the third grade class brainstormed.

  • pet-sitting
  • wiping windows
  • vacuum or sweep floors
  • take out the trash
  • make their bed
  • fold and/or put away clothes
  • clean a room
  • clean or put away dishes
  • dusting
  • clean bathroom/toilet
  • other (parent approved)

These chores should not be a part of their regularly scheduled chores that you already have in place; they should be over and above. We are asking that the students are paid with change, the value you think it is worth.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Leleux and Mrs. Soileau

Parents, please check the January Book page as I have updated required information for the February book reports. I am including index cards with required information due to the lack of information able to be given by students when asked about the book they read for the January report. Students who choose a project that requires a summary do not need to do the index cards.

Thanks for your support,

Mrs. Leleux
